Seal pup relaxes at St Justinian

Seals constantly ignore the Marine Code and minimum distances from humans - fair enough - it's their water. This week a lovely fat pup of 5 weeks or so (therefore independent) was lazing right by the slip at St Justinian. He ignored us as we carried the dinghy down the slip (we clearly weren't interesting enough) but roused himself slightly to spit at the dog, who was waiting to jump into the dinghy. The dog looked at me as if to say 'What was that for?' and sensibly took to the dinghy. The pup then rolled over and began to snore as we rowed away. Seal pups snore rather like canine pups so they look and sound rather sweet (at a safe distance!) but they do stink. They can of course also deliver a pretty nasty bite so it's worth admiring them quietly at a distance for your sake (and your dog's) as well as theirs.
