We've had a few days of wonderful sunshine, albeit a rather chilly northerly breeze yesterday. This clip shows the tide racing over the Bitches reef, a popular zone for experienced paddlers but also a beautiful spot to sit and watch the water go by.

If you sit just out of the tide you get a great view of the waves without the wet stuff. I know most of you like the wet stuff but we do try to take care of people's cameras! We had a respectable tide of 6.3m yesterday with a northerly breeze. Tides will get up to a 7.7m range in this area this Sept, at which point the reef can look pretty evil. Yesterday it was in friendly mode (but always ready to bite people in the butt).
