Last week we were hired to take some paddlers plus their kayaks out to Ramsey Island so that they could paddle on the Bitches reef while we took their students for a fun wildlife trip. They are very experienced paddlers and know that you can have too much of a good thing when it come to buckets of cold salt water so they gave themselves time to enjoy the challenge of the reef while we looked after their students and then they had a lift home.
This is a short video clip to show what they got up to Paddling The Bitches reef, Ramsey Island The students loved watching their lecturers working hard in the white water and the lecturers clearly enjoyed the white water! They'd been paddling hard for an hour and a half by the time we arrived but were still clearly loving the conditions. The reef does look beautiful in the sunshine but it's still really hard work! The white water of the tidal race is very localised which means that we can tuck in out of the fun stuff to enjoy the view, take photos etc. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
